Rebecca is a professionally qualified proofreader, sub-editor and copywriter who runs Pay for Precision.
She loves words and has a real flair for writing copy. She works for AIR international magazine as a freelance sub-editor and has been running Pay for Precision for over 4 years. She specialises in blogs for small businesses but also regularly works on writing web copy and CVs and proofreads anything written including novels, short stories, websites, blogs, essays and brochures.
Rebecca has an eclectic work background, which gives her an excellent insight into her clients’ work and the experience and knowledge she has enables her to write interesting and informative blogs and content for herself and others. She worked for a newspaper in recruitment advertising then an advertising agency where she wrote copy and proofread adverts, as well as managing prestigious clients like the City of London Corporation. She then went onto work for Reading Borough Council and won two awards for having the highest results in her Council Tax and Business Rates law exams. Having met her husband on Twitter (it’s a great story!) she moved to Coventry and worked from home then started her Science degree with the Open University.
Whilst studying with the OU she also gained a bookkeeping qualification, two NVQs for working with children in schools and started work as a Teaching Assistant for children with autism and as an Education Ranger for a nature reserve (she likes to stay busy!). Then children came along and the need to be at home and bring them up herself was greater than the need to go out to work. She decided to set up her proofreading business and has now expanded into copywriting and editing, and even social media management.
Working for yourself or as a small business is challenging work and it is easy to be overwhelmed. Pay for Precision aims to support other small or medium-sized businesses with blog writing/editing, web copy and proofreading and is also branching into offering the set up of Social Media platforms and managing content. As a master of multitasking and an eye for detail like no other she is the ideal person to have as part of your network.
Proofreaders have a reputation for being a little dull and obsessive over grammar but Rebecca is outgoing, and her favourite past-time is pole fitness. She is also mother to Hannah and Max, step mother of Beth and Evie, and wife to Dave.
