Meet....Louise Crane

Business Support Specialist

Louise helps busy entrepreneurs to thrive without burn out, recommending processes, automation and other tools to run their businesses effectively. She offers consultancy and business support services to smaller businesses and start-ups lacking the time and/or expertise to keep everything running ‘behind the scenes’. Services range from bookkeeping and finance to sales support and more general administration, all tailored to meet a client’s needs and budget.

With a degree in finance and business under her belt, Louise ventured into the world of work some 20+ years ago, initially in PA and office admin roles and then moving into corporate sales, initially for Coca-Cola and then later for L’Oreal Professional.

Those early years served as a springboard into a successful 15-year account management career in corporate events, working up to a Global Account Director role, which involved managing budgets and contracts for senior client stakeholders whilst also managing internal sales and operational teams to deliver the services required. The events industry proved very glamorous with plenty of world travel and glitzy hotels but after taking time out to start a family it was clear there was no longer a feasible for work/life balance.

Louise recognised that the time was right to fulfil the dream to set up a business of her own – once that that could be managed on a flexible basis, making use of the wide range of business skills she had built up over the years. That business has grown steadily over 3 years from a 2-days per week start-up into a busy, full-time practice with a portfolio of regular clients and an ever-growing database of contacts.

Louise works with her clients on a consultative, collaborative basis using her commercial background and expertise to really get ‘under the skin’ of a business and understand their goals and aspirations. She makes sure the right processes are in place, implementing new systems where they are needed and then providing the day-to-day support to ensure it all runs like clockwork.

She works as an integral part of any team, providing strategic insight and advice while also rolling her sleeves up and getting stuck in with the day-to-day support. In a nutshell, the busy entrepreneur’s right-hand woman.

A geeky passion for all things number-related means that Louise loves to dig into the financials of a client, from the basics of reviewing or setting up a bookkeeping process through to more detailed analysis, budgeting and forecasting to support with high-level decisions and forward planning.

Louise also co-founded the Warwickshire Virtual Assistant Network, launching its VA membership in 2017 to share expertise and best practice and offer support and training to other local VAs, with a view to developing a highly skilled local Virtual Assistant community, offering business owners access to a flexible network of business support.
